Tip #1: Saving a Visual Voicemail on Gravity 3
To save a copy of a voicemail, highlight the voicemail in Visual Voicemail, and press the middle Navigation key to open. Press the Options soft key and then Copy to. Highlight either Phone or Memory card, whichever is preferred, and press Select. To access saved files, select Files > Sounds > Voice List.
Tip #2: Customizing the Gravity 3 Messaging Shortcut Key
To personalize the messaging shortcut key on the front of the phone, go to Menu > Settings > Personalize > Messaging Key. A message will appear, indicating what feature is currently assigned to the shortcut key. Press OK. Use the Navigation key to highlight the messaging option the user wants assigned to this shortcut, and then press OK.
Tip #3: Visual Voicemail Shortcut
Once Visual Voicemail is set up, users can press and hold the 1 key to access Visual Voicemail (just as the user would for normal voicemail). Users can also set up a shortcut via the Messaging Shortcut key.
Tip #4: Change Voice Greeting or Voicemail PIN
To change the voice greeting or voicemail PIN, select Menu > Messaging > Voicemail > Options > Voicemail Settings. Select Record Greeting to record a voicemail greeting, and Change PIN to change the PIN number on the phone.
Tip #5: Rerouting Around a New Traffic Accident
When TeleNav GPS Navigator indicates an approaching traffic accident, press the 0 key to automatically reroute and receive new directions.
Tip #6: Panning Around Google Maps
To pan around a map, use the Navigation key. When panning, new areas will appear momentarily blank as the map data downloads. To pan the map faster, press and hold the Direction keys.
Tip #7: Gravity 3 Google Maps Shortcuts
While in Google Maps:
Press the 7 key to see traffic information.
Press the 2 key to view the map in Satellite view.
Press the 0 key to have Google Maps automatically locate My Location.
Press the * key to move the map to the user’s approximate location.
Tip #8: Navigation Key Shortcuts
The four points of the Navigation key are shortcuts to specific features:
The up Navigation key accesses Call History.
The right Navigation key accesses Audio Postcard.
The down Navigation key accesses Contacts.
The left Navigation key accesses Text Messages.
Tip #9: Receiving Directions with TeleNav GPS Navigator
To get driving (or walking) directions with TeleNav GPS Navigator (after the subscription has been set up), select Menu > Media > Games and Apps > TeleNav GPS Navigator > Drive to. Enter the “go to” address.
Select Traffic Optimized or Pedestrian routes, if walking. TeleNav shows and speaks each turn and street while displaying a visual map. If a traffic incident occurs en route, the user will see and hear a warning.
Tip #10: Repeating Audio Directions in TeleNav
To replay an audio TeleNav GPS direction, press the Talk key on the phone to repeat.
Tip #11: Multitasking: Playing Music While Using Other Phone Functions
Users can set the phone to play music in the background while using other phone functions. Select Menu > Media > Music > Music Player > Access > Settings > Background Playing. Press the right Navigation key until “On” appears in the box below “Background Playing.” Press Save.
Tip #12: QWERTY Keyboard Tips
When the phone is open, the screen automatically adjusts to landscape mode.
On either side of the space key are the soft key buttons.
On the right side of the keyboard are four blue arrow keys that act as the Navigation key arrows.
Instead of a center “OK” button, which is in the center of the Navigation keys when the phone is closed, the QWERTY keyboard has a marked OK key for added convenience.
Tip #13: Saving a Web Image or Web Page
Users can save a web image or web page directly from the web2go browser. Press the web2go soft key to activate. Go to the desired page and press the Options soft key, and then Save. Use the Navigation key to highlight Image or Page. A confirmation message will appear.
Tip #14: Syncing up Gravity 3 Calendar and Contacts
With Exchange email, users can sync their calendar and contacts. To sync the calendar, select Menu > Messaging > Exchange Email > Settings > Calendar Options. After the Exchange email tutorial, select Next to go through the tutorial or Skip to skip the tutorial. Select Mark to place a check next to Sync Calendar to enable the automatic synchronization of your Exchange calendar. Under the Date Range, select from 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, or 6 months. To sync Contacts, select Menu > Messaging > Exchange Email > Settings > Contact Options. After the Exchange email tutorial, select Next to go through the tutorial or Skip to skip the tutorial. Select Mark to place a check next to Sync Contacts to enable the automatic synchronization of your Exchange contacts.
Tip #15: Setting up Samsung Gravity 3 a Snyc Schedule
Users can easily set up a schedule to arrange when Exchange email would be synchronized. Select Menu > Messaging > Exchange Email > Settings > Sync Schedule. From this screen, set up how often the phone is to sync with the Exchange server during peak and off-peak hours – 5 or 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 4 or 12 hours.
It can also be set to Manual so the user’s email would sync manually each time the user requests it. On this screen, users can also define peak days, start time, and end time.
Tip #16: web2go
To access web2go, press the web2go shortcut key on the front of the phone – which is also the right soft key. Once the web2go screen appears, users can immediately access Google Search within the top search bar, as well as downloads, Yahoo! Mail, Facebook, and more. Press the Options soft key to reload, resize the page, forward, go to web history and more, save pages, and add bookmarks.
